About Raiah

Raiah Rofsky (she/they) is a composer, orchestrator, and copyist located in New York City. Her music has been produced and performed at Phoenix Theatre Company, the Hollywood Fringe Festival, 54 Below, Joe's Pub, 52nd St. Project, Rattlestick Theater, and Prospect Theater Company.

Raiah graduated from Occidental College with a BA in Music Composition, studying under Emmy-winning composer Adam Schoenberg. There, she discovered her love for musical theatre writing. They are an alum of the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. There she has found her writing voice, and solid collaborators.  Raiah is currently part of the third cohort of the MTF Makers™ program alongside librettist Nay Harris, where they are continuing to write their thesis musical Inevitable Transitions, an original '90s coming-of-age supernatural story. Most recently, Raiah and collaborator Danielle Koenig, became finalists for the sixth volume of Write Out Loud with their song "Start This Car."

Raiah had the immense pleasure to be a part of the 2021-2022 Maestra Mentorship program, where she was (and continues to be) the mentee of Broadway’s leading copyist, Emily Grishman.

As a queer, Jewish, and neurodivergent artist, Raiah is dedicated to centering her artistic practices around lifting up marginalized voices. When she is not writing, she enjoys embroidery, drinking iced coffee, and cooking elaborate meals that take too long to make.
